Enjoying our new ride :) |
had a fun trip to Cincinnati, got a new car (our first family car), had family in for Easter, and went to Knoxville to celebrate my niece's first birthday and Danny's 26th! It has been a whirlwind with long weekends and short work weeks and its looking like every weekend of April is following suit. In fact, tomorrow I fly out to Texas along with my mother-in-law and Aunts to visit my sister-in-law!! I am so excited! She is getting married 8.3.13 so we are looking at wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses.
Anyway, as far as little Baby O goes...we had the full anatomy scan yesterday. It was AMAZZZINGGG! I basically just cried the whole time as the Ultra Sound Tech showed us baby's fingers, toes, heart (we saw and heard it beat!!), and even little baby's bottom. :) The Tech showed us quite a bit of unused space near the baby and pointed out that instead of using it, baby was curled up in a tiny little ball. My mom said that means that Baby O is a cuddly little baby lol ... I sure hope so! The whole day was an absolutely beautiful experience. We are so thankful for how well everything seems to be going so far.
One exciting thing was hearing back about a scan they ran last time we were in the office. We had what is called, a quad screen, done. The test is supposed to detect risk of a few different birth defects including Spina Bifida and something called Anencephaly which is an undeveloped brain and incomplete skull (Mayo Clinic). These test results are important to know because, depending the results, the birthing plan may need to change. In some cases, a C-section may be required or the baby's skull could be crushed and cause irreparable damage and in other cases they would want to send us to a different hospital for specialized treatment for when baby is born. When our screen showed no abnormalities we were so thrilled!
Our New Car (The birds got to it immediately haha) |
Another exciting thing is seeing God provide already! Since my last post we have been offered a car seat and crib as gifts from family, and we found a good deal on a 2008 Honda CRV. The car seat is from my brother and sister-in-law and the crib is hardly used from Danny's Uncle and Aunt. We are so grateful and I can't wait to register for the rest! :)
P.S. Yes we did find out Baby O's sex... but we're going to make you wait until our reveal pictures are up on Facebook. :) Should be about a week or so!
Until then,
Mama Charley :)
So you did find out? That's so exciting! I can't wait to see the pictures!
