My birthday flowers and breakfast made by Meghan and Jess Mearns |
Being that I am originally from Georgia, an all-around-southern girl, and my Grandparents/family are all huge Braves fans I was pretty darn stoked when I found out the Braves were coming to play the Pittsburgh Pirates on my birthday weekend!! Pittsburgh is about 45 min away so we made a day of it. Went to a Babies R' Us up there (there aren't any closer ones to us right now!), went to Chick-fil-a (there aren't any closer of these either!!), and went shopping on East Carson Street, Pitt (one of my favorite
shopping places!!!). The game ended up being not as exciting as I had hoped because it was FREEZING and we were stuck in the middle of 40+ high schoolers that were acting like they owed the place. (Side note - what were these high schoolers all doing in Pittsburgh? Oh, they were all from Toronto, CANADA and all went to Pittsburgh for a weekend after their prom - am I the only one in this world that thinks that is absolutely CRAZY and wonders WHAT their parents were thinking letting them go to another country with both sexes unsupervised ? phew!). The day was still an amazing day and we ended at Primanti Brothers - one of my favorite sandwich places in Pittsburgh. :)
Now, as for my realized birthday wish...
Sunday night my husband was sweet enough to make my favorite cake for my birthday. He did have help form Meghan, but still ... this was his first time ever making a cake in his life! And it was delicious!! Anyway, when it came time to blow out my candles I knew what I wanted to wish for. I was 21 weeks and still hadn't felt Baby Girl kick, nudge, or poke me once! Everyone had been saying it would happen "any day now" for weeks ...but ... nothing. I wished that I would feel her soon and didn't tell a soul my wish. Monday morning, my actual birthday morning, my sweet Baby Girl gave me my birthday present - two little nudges. :) It took me a second to realize what I was feeling, but when I did I was so ecstatic! I raced down stairs and told Danny and he tried to feel but couldn't. Only days later, it is now crazy to think I couldn't feel her before because I feel her all day long now! Sometimes I swear she is doing some crazy karate moves in there or something ... she goes nuts lol!
Until Next Time,
Baby Momma :)
That's so exciting. I'm very impressed with Danny for making you a cake.
