Half a Year

Its hard to believe that we have made it halfway through Stella's first year of life after birth. Six months ago she was just learning how to nurse and hold her head up. Besides that, all she could do was sleep...and cry. :)
Today she can eat oatmeal, roll over, basically stay seated by herself, smile, laugh, make all kinds of noises, fall asleep on her own (my personal favorite achievement), put her paci in her mouth by herself and play alone for a short period of time.
Six months in the future, she will (more or less) be able to walk or stand on her own, say words, eat a variety of foods, have a couple teeth or so, begin to understand what I say, point to things, and much more. (Hopefully at least most of these are true, anyway!) The point is, this little person is going through so many huge life changes in this one, short year and I am so proud of her growth and development so far! God's design for our natural development is so amazing and it is a blessing to watch it first hand.

Here are some specs on our growing girl...

Weight: 14lbs, 11oz

Length: 26 1/2 inches

Favorite activity: Laughing at daddy (specifically, peek-a-boo) although she also loves being active on the living room rug. 

Favorite books: Brown Bear by Eric Carle followed closely by Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.  

Favorite toy: Plush, circle rattle made by "Taggies".

Dislikes: Bananas! This is the only thing we've tried besides rice cereal and baby oatmeal (which she LOVES), and I was shocked that she didn't like it! I eat at least 2 bananas everyday lol.

Sleep: At night Stella is sleeping 11- 12 hours without waking up. Sometimes I have to go put her paci back in during the middle of the night. During the day, she takes 3 shorter naps or 2 long ones. She is a great sleeper for the most part!

Food: She is still nursing four times a day but is also now eating baby cereal twice, daily. We will start adding more fruits and vegetables in the next few weeks.

I know I take wayyyy too many pictures of Stella so I try not to post them all on facebook haha. Here are some I have taken in the last few weeks.
